Q: I have a Hayward heat pump now, I want to upgrade to the heating/cooling. What size would I need for a 23,000 gallon pool. Also, is it possible to add this unit and run it in parallel with current heater for faster heating?

Hi, you should opt for the HP31405T heat/cool heat pump. You can indeed run them parallel to each other. You will need a 50 amp 230 volt dedicated circuit for each heat pump.

Q: Is your HeatPro Series HP31405T heat+chill pump Electric or natural gas? trying to decide on getting two separate units - one to Heat (using your H Series 400k BTU heater) and a separate cooler or getting this combo unit. My pool will be about 11,000 gallons and in Boise, ID. I will not be needing to heat the pool in the cold winter. I'll use the pool only when outside temps are 70 degrees and up. will it take a lot longer to heat the pool to 85 when it is 70 outside using the combo pump than it would the H Series heater? and when it is 105 outside will it cool it to 85 without issues? or would I benefit from buying two separate units to heat and cool?

Hi, all of our heat pumps operate on electricity. This would be a great option for both heating and cooling your pool. Heat pumps are the most economical means of heating a pool, saving between 50 and 70% of the cost of heating with gas.
